Researchers for the project "Mathematical modeling, numerical simulation and development of real-time battery management systems for electric vehicles

DESCRIPTIONS: up to a maximum of 3 contracts as researcher for the project mentioned above.

The research lines of this Project are related to:

1.- Development of mathematical and computational techniques that allow modeling, simulation and design of battery management systems.
2.- modeling and numerical simulation of novel energy storage devices.

The offers are part of the Framework Agreement for Technological Collaboration between Repsol SA and the Technological Institute of Industrial Mathematics Consortium.

RESPONSIBLE SCIENTISTS : Professor Dr. Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro López-Varela, Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Santiago de Compostela and Professor Dr. Jerónimo Rodríguez García, Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, both researchers assigned to ITMATI.

PROFILES OF THE CANDIDATES : Graduates, Engineers, Graduates, and Masters related to Mathematics, Physics, Engineering and Computing.

TRAINING AND GENERAL MERITS TO BE VALUED (35 points, all contributions must be documented).

Academic record of the degree or degree, engineering and master's degree.
Degree of affinity of the qualifications of the candidate with the fields of Applied and Industrial Mathematics.
Knowledge and previous experience in modeling, numerical simulation and optimization, and in the implementation and validation in computer algorithms and numerical methods of these disciplines.
English skills.

SPECIFIC MERITS TO BE VALUED (30 points, all contributions must be documented).
When evaluating the submitted applications, experience in some of the following fields related to the research areas of the Project will also be taken into account, and it is not necessary to have experience in all of them:

Numerical methods for the resolution of ordinary differential equations and partial derivatives.
Numerical methods in optimization.
Programming in scientific calculation languages ​​(C, Fortran, Python, etc.).
Modeling of physical and chemical processes.
Order reduction techniques.
Observer techniques and systems control.
Aspects directly related to energy storage systems.
Creation of web interfaces for scientific applications.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE TO BE VALUED (15 points, all contributions must be documented )
Previous experience in the application of modeling and numerical simulation to the study of batteries for electric vehicles will be evaluated.

Candidates selected according to the above criteria will be invited to a personal interview. At least the three best rated candidates will be interviewed.

PLACE OF WORK: Technological Institute of Industrial Mathematics (ITMATI), Servizos Pavilion, Campus Vida, Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
