Job Duties:
Analog & Mixed-Signal Business Unit of Mentor Graphics is looking for software development engineers for its library characterization system R&D team. Kronos is a comprehensive and leading edge library characterization system. The candidate will join Kronos R&D team based in Grenoble and will actively develop algorithms with various levels of complexity to meet the product requirements and contribute to its roadmap execution. She/he will develop in several programming languages (C++, Lisp), will write functional and technical specifications. She/he will then perform software implementation, verification testing and write documentation.
As Kronos is a library characterization tool, it embeds the leading Spice simulators of Mentor Graphics: Eldo and AFS. Collaboration work with 3rd party AMS products, e.g. simulation environments, digital designs, timing/power analysis will also be part of the job.
The candidate will be part of a team and, so, will have to share information, participate actively to various meetings and report her/ his activity.
He/she will be under responsibility of Kronos Engineering Manager and will adjust his/her priorities and work according to needs of management and business requirements.

Job Qualifications:
The candidate has up to 5 – 10 years of experience in programming sophisticated algorithms in the simulation area and a solid experience of functional programming (or another high level programming language) and Unix commands with an engineering degree or/and PhD in Electronics or Applied Mathematics or Computer Science. The candidature of junior engineers with a high profile and strong motivation to join an EDA leader will also be considered. The ideal candidate has:

• Strong programming skills in Functional or other high level Programming and in scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, Python, etc.
• A knowledge of digital design flow and characterization domain
• A background in circuit simulation using modern Spice simulators
• A knowledge of Verilog,Liberty format, CCS and ECSM models
• A knowledge in Static Timing Analysis would be a plus

The candidate is highly motivated by the development of sophisticated algorithms within a state of the art Cell Characterization environment and is rigorous and disciplined when developing software according to high quality standards. She/he is fast learner, autonomous and creative and shows dedication and hard working qualities. She/he has good communication capabilities and is an efficient team worker. The candidate will be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
